Glass House Designs
Susan Molnar was born in Detroit, Michigan, spending years in the grind and non-creative atmosphere of automotive manufacturing. To alleviate some of the stress and "exercise the creative side of her brain," Susan began taking stained glass classes, a practice that evolved into a passion for working with and creating stained glass since 1992.
While searching for new ways to explore the craft of art glass, and herself as an artist, Susan discovered "warm glass" (kiln forming techniques including fusing, slumping, and manipulation), a technique that changed her life entirely.
Susan uses the combination of unique types of glass and incorporates non-glass inclusions to introduce texture and individuality into her work. Susan also teaches stained glass and "warm glass" classes at Glass House Designs in Lowell, MI, a variety of Southwest Michigan Art Councils and private studios.
